An Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is a work-based programme designed to enhance individual performance at work to benefit both the individual and the organisation. EAPs achieve these results through helping employees and their families resolve personal and emotional problems, stress and anxiety, or any other issue that could potentially affect that employee’s job performance. Although employee problems may be unrelated to work, these problems have a significant negative impact on employee attendance, attention, morale, productivity and safety.
